PLUTO IN RETROGRADE

CARD 1: What areas in my life do I need to focus or reflect on during this retrograde?

The 7 of Pentacles (R) indicates your efforts could be scattered at this moment and now you are questioning whether you are investing in the right areas. Scrutinize where you are investing your time, energy and resources and if you are sure you are satisfied with your current progress and receiving a return on those investments. Prioritize to make sure you’re not wasting your time or effort on areas that will not deliver any results. Likewise, the 7 of Pentacles (R) suggests that even though you are continuing to invest a lot of energy into a specific situation, you may have not reap the rewards you are looking for. Reapply your focus. In terms of relationships and love, the 7 of Pentacles (R) indicates you’ve been working hard on building the foundations for your relationship but now you may worry that you could lose all of it. Or you may feel frustrated that the relationship is not progressing or growing as quickly as you had hoped for. Know that you can pour your heart and soul into something but unfortunately that comes with no guarantees. For some, you may come to the realization that this relationship may not be worth your time—no matter how or hard much you try.

CARD 2: What do I need to release control over?

The Chariot is a card of willpower, determination and strength. Now isn’t the time to be passive, in hopes that things will magically work out in your favor. The Chariot is encouragement to use your willpower and home in on what’s essential to you, so you can push past any obstacles in your way.

The Chariot wants you to know that you will be successful as long as you stay and remain your focused and remain confident in your abilities. Assert yourself and be courageous. Be bold when expressing your desires and setting your boundaries; otherwise, you might not get your way. Ultimately, you need to have faith in yourself and know essentially who you are and what you stand for.

For others, the King of Swords indicates that you have a clarity or a peace of mind and can perceive the truth. You get straight to the point and get to the heart of the matter. The King of Swords encourages you to use your logic and intellect to navigate through your path ahead. You’ll need to make firm and well-researched decisions and stay fair in your dealings with others. Look at any situation with total impartiality so that you can come to a balanced and insightful decision. The King of Swords advises it may be worth getting some legal or financial advice. If you’re expecting changes or particular circumstances that will require an expert opinion, you can be on the front foot by seeking help before anything happens.

CARD 3: What dark sides in terms of shadow work to I need to work on?

The 8 of Swords could come as a warning that your thoughts and beliefs are no longer serving you. You may be over-thinking things, creating negative patterns or limiting yourself by only considering the worst case scenario. The more you think about the situation the more you feel stuck and or as if you do not have any options. It’s time to get out of your head and let go of those thoughts and beliefs. They’re holding you back. Keep in mind, as you change your thoughts, you change your reality. If you replace those negative thoughts with positive ones, you’ll start to create a better situation for yourself. The 8 of Swords wants to assure you that there is a way out of your current predicament– you just need a new perspective. The 8 of Swords is often associated with a victim mentality. Take back your power and personal accountability and really open your eyes to the options in front of you. For others, the 8 of Swords indicates that you are confused about whether you should stay or go. The 8 of Swords is asking you to get out of your head and let your intuition be your inner guidance. Your thoughts are not benefiting you right now, but your intuition is. Trust (in) yourself.

Card 4: What hidden truths do I need to be honest about?

The 6 of Cups (R) is a sign you’ve lost touch with your inner child and now life has become boring, repetitive, and uninteresting. The 6 of Cups (R) wants to ask whether you're clinging to the past and/or losing touch with what’s going on in the moment. Perhaps you are thinking about an ex, or you’ve even started seeing each other again, but you want to keep this information quiet. You may be reluctant to let others know that you are revisiting these old memories or relationships, in fear that they may judge you. It's okay to indulge a little in reminiscing about the past here and there—as long as you understand that true and lasting change can only happen when you’re in the present moment. The 6 of Cups (R) wants you to use this retrograde as an opportunity to make peace with the past so you can focus on the now. Learn from your mistakes, forgive others and yourself, and acknowledge that life is continually moving and evolving.

For others, the 4 of Cups (R) reflects a period of introspection and withdrawal. You could be already retreating in your own inner world so that you can concentrate on what is essential to you and what grounds you. Just be careful that you don’t shut off your friends and loved ones or appear disinterested in their lives. Let them know you need some alone time and that you’ll reach out again when you’re ready to. If you’re feeling withdrawn don’t force yourself to go out. Allow yourself to just be in this moment or space and when you’re ready, re-integrate with the world and those around you. Use this time of introspection to check in with your inner self and to make sure any upcoming projects and endeavours are a perfect match. Instead of saying yes right away, assess the situation first. On the other hand, be careful that you don’t lose this opportunity as you wait for an answer. The 4 of Cups (R) could also mean that you’re being reluctant to open your heart to someone or to express your true feelings—choosing to withdraw and isolate yourself from the other person instead. Be mindful of how this could impact those who are close to you and consider their needs along with your own.

CARD 5: What awaits me at the end of this retrograde (October 5, 2021)?

The Emperor represents a powerful leader who demands respect and authority. Status, power and recognition are essential to him, where he can command and direct others. The Emperor reflects a system bound by rules and regulations. Create law and order by applying principles or guidelines to a specific situation. Create calm out of any chaos by breaking down the problem into its parts and then planning out the necessary actions you need to to resolve it. The Emperor wants you to be systematic—strategic and highly organised in your approach. Stick to your plan until the end.

The 10 of Wands (R) appears is often a sign that you’re trying to do too much by yourself. In your efforts to be everything and everywhere to/for everyone, you may have found yourself struggling to carry the weight of it all. It’s okay to delegate and share the work. Know that you don’t have to do it all or alone. Also be firm when saying no to the things you know you can’t take on. The 10 of Wands (R) wants you to really put your self-care and personal well-being first; otherwise you’re going to burn yourself. For some, the 10 of Wands (R) can indicate that you’re carrying a heavy weight on your shoulders, but you are keeping this private as you are unwilling to share your burden with others. You could be carrying emotional trauma, a secret, or just dealing with an increased amount of responsibilities. By not feeling or being comfortable to share this with others, you are pushing away the people who can actually help you. The 10 of Wands (R) wants you to that you’re holding onto this burden when you don’t need to do so. On a lighter not, if you’re going through a challenging time, then the 10 of Wands (R) wants to assure you that this time will soon pass. Consider going through a purging process—clearing out the old.

CARD 6: A message from Pluto.

The Hierophant‘s arrival suggests you are not yet willing to go out on a limb or offer any new and innovative ideas. Instead, you abide to the key principles and rules that you know will lead to a successful result. The Hierophant calls you to honor family traditions or sacred rituals that could be neglected. If you have been lacking ritual and tradition, create a daily routine such as daily affirmations. Open your heart and experience the flow of emotions available to you right now. The Ace of Cups carries the potential for spiritual and emotional fulfilment – but only if you embrace it with an open heart. For some, the Ace of Cups often represents a new relationship— it could be a friendship, a new family connection or a flourishing romantic relationship. Give yourself the permission to open yourself to giving and receiving unconditional love, and you will see how affection flows effortlessly when you are in this loving state of mind. You have the power to share your inner radiance and positive energy, bringing great happiness to those around you. Doing this, you will find that the more you give, the more you receive on multiple levels. The Ace of Cups can also signify conception, pregnancy or birth. This could mean the birth of a new idea or a spark of inspiration.
